About the Pug
Pugs were bred in China as companions for Buddhist monks and later became highly valued by Chinese emperors during the Ming Dynasty. These small companion dogs with distinctive wrinkled faces were eventually brought to Europe by traders. Their history as imperial pets makes them symbols of luxury and companionship.
